First post to this forum! My family has a 1946 wooden sailboat with the original Grey Marine Lugger Light Four 69 engine, engine number D-1175. It's been in our family for over 50 years. I am gathering information on the engine, creating a personalized manual, and working towards understanding the systems so that I can capably maintain/repair it in the future. I am not an engine person, but am learning. I have a copy of a 1956 Gray Maintenance handbook that covers the 4 and 6-cylinder gas engines of that era. ** If anyone has additional info or images related to this engine, I'd be grateful to receive them. ** Carb question: According to this web page (http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/MarinekitsG.htm), our carburetor should be a Zenith 61 series (61M2AE7 8817). Our carb looks identical to the one in this eBay ad (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gray-Marine-zenith-and-LIGHT-FOUR-Carb-Carburetor-Model -61-61M2AE7/383186520064). However, when I look at parts schematics for Zenith carbs (such as at http://www.russellsnewoldparts.com/uploads/1/5/6/2/15626480/exploaded_views.pdf), the 61 series doesn't exactly match. For example, the main jet is horizontal in the figure but is set at a 45 degree angle in our carb (and the ebay carb above). Does anyone have insight on these Zenith schematics?
