I have looked through the forum and cannot find an answer to this specific question: what modern engine mounts can replace the original mounts for my Fireball 6-140 used in my 1950 Century Seamaid? I have a vibration problem as I try to accelerate from just above an idle. The prop appears straight but is getting checked. The shaft is dead straight. The gap between shaft flanges is about .035 wider on the top gap compared to the bottom gap. The side gaps are identical. I think the original mounts finally failed after 68 years. |

Many boats used a solid engine mount that lag bolted directly to the engine bed with adjusting wedges. Graymarine made several styles of solid mounts. Flange gaps should be even all the way around. You could also have a worn out strut bearing. |
