These engines came in 1, 2, 3, & 4 cylinder configurations and were sold to a broad variety of marine applications. Because not all boats then had compressed air available to start one of these Vikings, Markey also produced a small gas powered air compressor consisting of two cylinders, one being the 4-stroke gas engine and the other set up as a compressor. They included the use of Ford Model-T parts for the pistons, rods, valves, carburator, and ignition. I actually own one of these and have found the original drawings for them.
I tried posting this on the discussion board for Diesel Inboards, but the photos must have been too large and it would not let me. I thought that the photos I have might be interesting to you. Feel free to e-mail me if anyone has any information on a Viking Oil Engine as I would like to find one.
