I have a mostly complete engine that I'm trying to sell. Block number is 3782870. It has a Velvet Drive AS1-71C transmission. Does anyone know if this is a 327 or 283? |

Your engine is a 1962-65 GM 327 |

My nephew is restoring a Boesch 5.6M which was made in Switzerland, It is powered by a 1962 Crusader Marine (Chevrolet 327Turbofire?) engine. Serial Number 3683 Both the water cooled exhaust manifolds need replacing. The righthand one has "Model RH230" cast on it. The manifolds for these are probably ok from 1961-1965 engines. Does anyone know where you can get replacements? does anyone make new ones, or we going to have to look for ones off an old engine? |

I'd find new ones. Just make sure to hook up the water flow on the new ones like the old ones. Barr marine makes several. Aluminum ones are also out there. |
