Today, I rode the launch to the haul out marina - about 1 hour run - loaded the fantail on the trailer (borrowed) and took it to the shop here in the Great White North - white as in "white hot weather".
I don't know how you all in the south take this hot weather.

The next month or two will see the cosmetics and decking installed, and then it will go back to the marina, get re-launched and back to its home in the boathouse.
The hull is around 1910 and is almost 100% original. The engine is a 1918 St Lawrence 2 cylinder.

I have not seen the launch from this vantage since it went into the boathouse 7 years ago - nice to see its lines again from afar

Here is an update

The first 2 pictures are of the floor - I made the "well" so that I could get my big fat feet lower when I start the engine. The covering is contact cemented to the plywood floor. Got lucky to find a surplus piece of gray flooring to match the hull colour.

The next pictures are of the fore and aft decks. This decking was all taken apart 18 years ago and stashed in cardboard boxes which were moved about in my shop and boathouse more than once.

I surprised myself when I was able to get the complete deck pieces ( even the little itty bitty ones) for both decks after all these years. The wood is mostly oak with a couple of red maple. I'll spend the next days scraping, cleaning the wood and repairing the cracked pieces.

One fine looking launch Miro. Will you have it in the water this year? Have you run the engine?

Cheers Dick

Yes I expect to have the "cosmetics" completed the end of August and back on the water.

Before taking it out of the water in July, I made sure that everything in the infrastructure ( eg engine, fuel tank, steering, ignition, ballast etc etc) were all AOK.
That took a bit of tweaking of the carb in June (didn't want to get hung up in the middle of Lake Rosseau) but I got 'er done so that I could take the boat to the shop for the beauty treatment.

Going though my stash of wood, I found some nice 16 ft, 1 inch x 13 in wide planks of old growth clear cypress that I bought decades ago. They will make really nice seats for the launch.
