How about a new name this engine: This is currently for sale in the Mecum Indy - Jim Street collection. Listed as an early T-head and who knows if the parts missing from the pic are there. Obviously not a T-head. What is it???? Let me know if you know. Cheers, Lew "The West Coast Sterling Guy" |

The aluminum crankcase ad the individual cylinders sort of, hint at a Van Blerck. Some Van Blercks had a Tee head, but others were L heads. But some pictures of the other side might help - dunno if you can get those. Miro |

Thanks Miro, I have been leaning toward Van Blerck as well but so far have not found any reference. It looks like Joe's style but most were T-head. I wish there were more pics on the Mecum site. We do not know if the parts missing in this pic are there or not. Cheers, Lew |

Looks very much like a work in progress so presumably the engine was complete when that began or they probably wouldn't have bothered? |

upcoming Mecum Indianapolis auction engine listings have been much expanded and updated. The "T-head" with parts missing is now described as a Scripps engine |

Lou, They posted another photo with the covers that say "Scripps" on them. Got my bidders package today. Over 1" thick but all cars and boats. Nothing on the motors. |
