Hi Richard,
The fuel pump needs replacing, and I've estimated fuel flow rate as less than one gallon per hour, requiring a 2 or 3 psi pump - is that right? The pump that was bulkhead mounted was a Bendix made part, looking very similar to the part sold by Moyer Marine (see www.moyermarine.com/fuelsys.html). Are these pumps easily obtained or should I just order one online?
I received my Palmer manual - this will be a HUGE help. Thank you.

Hi Chris, All,
I know this is an old post but I have a similar issue and wanted to try to bump this post rather than make a new post.
I have a pw-27 and no longer have the electric fuel pump and would like to get one once I have the engine running again, its been sitting for about 35 years.
So if anyone knows of a source for the palmer pw-27 fuel pump that would be great, if not, the referenced moyer marine site seems to have a suitable pump, the Product No. - FPMP_01_44 at 2-3 psi appears suitable.

I just Googled 2 to 3 PSI electric fuel pump and found dozens listed from 6 dollars to over a hundred.
The smaller in line style should be sufficient. Look at the bottom of this ebay listing for lots more choices.

I like that price much better! I just wasn't sure what the requirements are for the engine and saw the previous post.

I have a rebuilt (by me) PW27 on my 27ft Erickson. 20 hrs. on the rebuild now. Pushes at 4.5 kts
I have this pump you show on E-Bay. It does fine but, it does run continuously, I would have liked it to shut off when pressure is made. That way it would use less battery power. I like to knock off the belts when runing for long periods of time.
Check and be sure to OIL the starter/generator on your PW27. I did not and had to buy a new one on E-Bay this morning. $117 to my door.
I have it in the Chesapeake Bay, raw water cooling. I wonder how long the jug might last. |

Howard,
Can you confirm the make/model of the starter/generator you purchased about a year ago for your PW27? Mine is a remanufactured one that does not have data plates, or serial numbers I can find. It does not have enough torque to start the engine so I'd like to look at my options for replacement.
The Palmer Errata I have states the PW27 starter is a Delco 1101933-1KS, but I can not locate this anywhere.
