Met a gentleman last week at the Coolspring Power Museum. He was looking for information on an engine he has. I scanned the pictures he had. I can ask for specific profiles if that would help.

Looking at the bearing end caps, it doesn't appear to be off center.

Keith, It looks like an early Cushman. I'm attaching a couple pics of a small stationary one that some of the relation of the Cushman family bought at an auction back in 2004. Not sure about the marine versions but some of the stationary versions were also sold by other companies such as Modern from Chicago.

Thanks Nick, I always thought of Cushman as a maker of farm engines. Looking in Wendel's, he indicates they started by making marine engines about 1902. |

Put in a few hours on this one and Nick's photo
showed a Cushman that I had not seen or recorded before.
The six spoke wheel and the two bolt-bolt on engine mounts put it on my maybe list but other traits wouldn't match up. with nicks photo I searched and found that Cushman made first engines in 1902, the 1903-04 were the same design with the bolt on manifold and an exact match to Keiths photos.

Good eye Nick, knowing what it is the flywheel looks like it would go on a Cushman Binder. |
