I have a Straubel 8 hp marine engine that I've just had time to get up and running.
Right now, I can either bump start it, but have it belted to an electric motor.
It's about all the motor can handle, and even bump starting is more than I need. That is one heavy flywheel for it's size, and a lot of compression.
On the flywheel there are two angled holes that look like they're for some kind of hand crank?
Does anybody know about a crank for the larger Straubel's, or have a picture of one? Would like to reproduce one if such a thing exists to make startup a little easier.

Thanks,

I;ve sen flywheels like this, looks like it would take a strap around the flywheel with a hook on it.

JB, thanks for the reply. A strap w/ hook makes sense- something I probably wouldn't ever have thought of.
I'll try and rig one up and see how it works,

Appreciate it,

Tmann
