Wanted complete racing 4 cylinder engine or parts to convert Fireball 4 90hp into racing 4 I have a couple Fireball 90's but am after the racing version. Any original specs would also be appreciated.

Jordan,

I think the racing 91 was a much smaller block. The Fireball 90 is 162ci I believe.

Bruce,

The phantom 4-45 block is one that he would need to create the racing 91. I did patterns for the rear engine mount and thrust bearing plate for a guy several years ago. They were aluminum on the racer and took place of the missing transmission. I don't remember the exact carb setup, but it was interesting.

I have a couple of the 91 ci engines with dreams of making my own 91 racer out of them and then building a boat for it.

Yes indeed, I see now that it's the smaller block used for the racing 91. I wonder if the Fireball 50 block would also work. Does anyone know what the hp rating was for the racing 91?
