Hello, I've got two Graymarine V8 engines, and I'm looking for some info on them. They came out of a couple of Chris Crafts and/or Centurys. They are model# V8CH220 and V8CH280, one has an engine # beginning with W, one starts with Y. I'm looking for information on engine size, horsepower, etc., and whether either is a Fireball. |

The V8CH220 is 220hp. Most likely a AMC/Rambler. The V8CH280 is 280hp. Most likely a Buick. Post some photos. |

Thanks, Jim. Would the Buick be a 401ci nailhead or a 400ci from '67 onwards? I don't have pictures, I took the numbers off of the plate when I was collecting information on a bunch of engines in storage. The 220hp seems to be an AMC 327, a bit on the heavy side and not terribly powerful. What would signify a Fireball engine? |

The Buick would most likely be the nailhead. Hard to be precise without photos. Fireball was the higher speed series. Could be 4-6-8 cylinder. |

Thanks Jim. What would I look for to signify if an engine was a Fireball or Phantom version? I have a Phantom 4-45 that has an ID plate, but on these others I'm not sure what to look for. |
