I'm about to restore a 80'vessel with its original Joynson-Strob(sp?) 4cyl,(12" dia x 12" stroke), direct drive, air start, engine. Have no idea where to look for parts or information about the engine. Any ideas or info would be a big help. Thanks Tom |

HI Tom, I'm in the process of restoring a 78' iron hulled boat powered by it's original 1929 Atlas Imperial, 6cyl, 140hp engine. Parts for these museum pieces are hard to find. Try Stregel Enterprises in Seattle Wash. They may have some. I think you have a rather uncommon engine and may have to have parts custom machined. Even though Atlas made many marine engines for over 30yrs many of the parts on my engine are unobtainable. Thus custom machined manufacturing is the only way to keep them going. If you have some pics please post them so we can see what your working on. Some pics of my engine are on this site. Look for " 1929, 140hp, Atlas Imperial diesel engine". Keith |
