We had another workday at the shop today. A good turnout with plenty of projects and a lot of spectators. Don was the first to show up with his Novo cylinder, we set it up and I got him started sleeving it, worked on it all day, left with it finished, didn't get the finished picture. David brazed a head for his friend John. Mike got the hang of the crank grinder, two cranks were ground and bearings poured, one single and one twin. Should have taken more pictures but I was busy helping keep the projects going.
Jamie brought a couple of engines that he hasn't run in a while.

Thanks. It was a fun day, probably about thirty people total, kind of like a small engine show. We run engines, do projects have donuts and coffee for breakfast, poboys for lunch. I encourage the owners to do as much as they are comfortable with, others in the group have stepped up and provide help. It's nice to see that they are learning the old ways. Dick is right, a good time was had by all. It's always fun to see the first timers, they walk around constantly shaking their heads, system overload. |
