Hi Guys, I have a 1956 Lyman that was most likely repowered to a Gray Marine 232 150 hp. A lifter went bad and I believe took out the cam. Does anyone know where I could locate a cam for this motor? from what I am told is this was one of the last motors Gray offered and is rather rare. I know it is an AMC 232 so I was wondering if I could buy a very mild truck cam if I couldn't locate a marine cam. Also, does anyone know the original color? is it the gray marine teal? or was it red? thanks for any help. |

If you engine is normal rotation a car cam should work. Normal rotation the crankshaft pulley turns clockwise when you are facing it. Summit Racing has many different grinds. http://www.summitracing.com/search/engine-size/3-8l-232/engine-family/amc-inline -6-cylinder/part-type/camshafts?N=4294947681%2B4294944797%2B4294891642&keyword=c amshaft |
