I have been looking for a period correct motor for a 1923 25ft launch I am restoring. I have located a St. Lawrence marine Model T conversion, it is apart but seems complete. Does anyone have any comment on these and does anybody have any idea what I should expect to pay for it? I would welcome any thoughts.

I tried to attach pictures of the boat but I get an error saying the file is to big, so I need to figure out how to reduce the size or another way to send them

Thanks Ernie for posting the pix for me. I incorrectly called the boat a 1923, it is as far as we can tell a 1921 built by Wilbur Ketcham. The first pictures were when it was in the water about 15 years ago, the last is as I found her.

Ketcham or Ketchum? We did have a Ketcham's (Ketchum"s?) Boat Works up here in Ottawa. It was a boat dealer and builder and service marina, primarly for the pointer boats used for towing log booms on the Ottawa river, but it also built power boats for sale. It was located on the Ottawa River just below Parliament Hill, where the first lock of the Rideau System is. I honestly forget the correctly spelling. Ketchum's/Ketchums was operating apparently up until the 1950's.

when I looked at some old records at Mystic last year I found listings for what seemed to be a family of Ketchams and Ketchums from the early 1800s that were boat builder of many sizes. Mine was built by a boat shop on the south side of Long Island NY. They sold sails and later became well known for small fast sail boats.
I am still looking for info on St Lawrence Model T ford marine conversions.

Google Antique Boat Museum in Clayton NY. Phone them and ask to be connected to the Museum Librarian and go from there.
