I'm trying to pull my, I think they are 327's, out of my 1966, 31' Owens Flagship. I'm not familiar with this type of motor mounts. In fact, I don't see anyway to get them apart other than unscrew the base from the wood stringer. The bottom mount is about 8" long. It is slanted down towards the stern with a slot going the length. There is one square headed adjusting bolt on top. I realize that this design is for getting the engine and the transmission in perfect alignment. Do you take out the square adjusting bolt to get the two halves apart so that the engine can be pulled up? Or???? |

I assume all these r reverse flywheel? if so, the dip stick on mine is at the rear of the engine block closer to the tranny. the dipstick is not the right one, broken off. I have no way to check the level. do u know where to get a replacement or post a pic of urs with the length. I would appreciate it.thanks |

There is no telling if my motors and yours are the same. What you do is find out the oil capacity of your engine(s). Drain and change your oil adding the proper amount by the book. Remember, there is a different amount to bring it up to full if you change the filter. Once you've done that, it will be relatively easy to make a dipstick and mark the full level. Good luck. |
