Started my Perkins T-6354 at dock and a few minutes later alarm sounded. Shut her down and checked engine and all looked ok. Checked oil dipstick and below minimum. Changed oil 2 months ago and only put 7 hours on it since then. Rechecked hoses, gaskets etc, all ok. Nigel Calder's book said next step would be possibly losing oil through the oil cooler into exhaust. Any suggestions before I dismantle. I am going to pull oil cooler, gearbox cooler and air charge cooler. What is best way to clean the tube stacks and what is best way to test the units when done. Water, air pressure> Thanks in advance |
