This was an family item that has been sitting in my garage for years. I have yet to find anyone who could tell me specifically what it is and what it was used for.
Personally I want to find out more about the piece and through that I may be able to relate it to some family history.
People have guessed this to be a pump of sorts, maybe farming or fire fighting.. It is extremely heavy.
Description.
Across the bottom it reads:
EVINRUDE MOTOR CO MILWAUKEE WI NO 1
On the top flywheel(?) it reads:
EVINRUDE MAGNETO
PAT'D U.S.A. MAR.23, 1915
JULY 20, 1915 - JAN.25, 1916

I think I may have figured it out myself.
I found the attached ad for a evinrude centrifugal pump and it looks just like it.
So if this is it, would it be used for just bailing water out of boats?

If you get me the serial number off the tank, I can look up the year manufactor Most likely 1920's |

$200-$300 for a tank and carburetor, They should be the same as the outboard motor. Are you in love with it? The tower on mine was broken and welded, I would buy yours to make a perfect one |

Roger. I was thinking it woudl be alot more than $300 to put it back together. I may make for a fun project...
As far as selling. I am not in love with the piece, although it did come from family so the thought of putting it back together is intriguing.
I am open to selling it as well, I don't know where you live. I live a bit south of Chicago and travel to St Louis at least once a month.... Shipping is always an option as well however I have never shipped anything near this heavy..
What would you be willing to offer for the piece? |
