Dose anyone know of a Volvo MD48B engine? If so are there parts available? How reliable are these engines? Where can I get a manual?

I have an MD 47, which is basically the same engine. It has never had a complete tear down but still runs flawlessly. It is in a 37' ex-trawler and burns 1.5 gph @6 knots. Idles nicely @ 650 rpm. New parts are next to non-existent, unless you have trunk full of horse shoes. Being somewhat crudely built than newer engines, they are more easily repaired and maintained. } |
