I have a mercedes om 616 in my yacht that is 65 hp and I believe about 20 years old. I am looking to get spare starter motor and solenoid. I believe it is the same as used on car 240 d but would be grateful if any knows or can point me to where I can find out |

Hello John,
I'm looking for OM616 Engine workshop manual and came across your question about starter motor for the same engine ? I just 2 years ago bought a new quaranteed overhauled starter at auto electrical shop in Finland. Mark down the starter motor body number: and any auto electrical shop that is selling Bosch-starters should be abel to figure it out !!? In Finland they gave me also 25 € discount for the old starter body !

A bit late I know, but I have an OM616 in my Colvic that needed a new start motor. I bought one from a car breakers from a 300D and that works fine. I think most bits from 240D's and 300D's fit. |
