What spark plug should I be using in my Ferro Type 7 2-Stroke? What spark plug did it use "in the day"? I've posted some pics of what came in the engine when I bought it. It's a Champion 31 inside an adapter. Did these engines use adapters when new? I'm guessing not. Here's some pics of the plug w/adaptor.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
Thats not a adapter. Old style plugs where "take apart". Your plug should be appropriate for your engine

Thanks Keith. Where might I find new ones? This one is in pretty bad shape. A quick Google search for Champion 31s didn't show anything that looks like mine.

Thanks,
Chris

If you are not worried about external appearance - Have seen a brass socket made up in Hex stock with 1/2" BSP on the outside and 14 mm. plug thread on the inside. Would need to find a 'hot' plug as a plug intended for modern engines will never get to a temperature that will burn off deposits. If you are display only and will not going to load the engine by pushing a boat, the plug choice is not that much of an issue.

I'm headed to NAPA today to check on a Champion A25, 525, or whatever a hot version of that plug is. Appearence isn't asn issue, so I could make my own adaptor and use a modern hot plug if I had to.

Thanks!
Chris
