Hi all.. im new here and i have some MAJOR engine troubles.. I own a 74 Trojan F-30 hard top with the twin 225's in it.. Now, since its my first LARGE vessel, I kinda messed up in the winterization process and now im faced with 2 cracked 225's...my question is about the blocks themselves.. I am keeping this boat as it is perfect for the wife and I, so im not going after resale tips or tricks. I just wanna know if its possible to bolt on a regular 318 to the velvet drives. and for the counter rotating aspect ' im assuming i will have to salvage things like the stbd camshaft & distributor and the like.. is this kind of a change-over possible?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to keep all the electrics, pulleys, flywheel and accessories. Also all the fuel system. The block looks alike but it is a different alloy. Marine versions have nickel for corrosion resistance. Buyin two long blocks may be the best option. I can get you a good deal on Jasper remanufactured units.

i have a F-36 trojan. I would get engine manuals on line. get tags of the motors and trans. check trans. for horse power rating. 225's are 6 cylinders. i would got to 360's. Remember port engine is reverse turning.the reverse turning engine cam, oil pump gear and fire sequence is different. if you read the manual from chrysler on marine engines, there is no difference with the engine blockes. go fuel injection if you can

I need an aluminum 440 marine bell housing for an BW inboard. I have several cast iron ones and one aluminum but need another aluminum. Would you have any leads?
Please let me know
Thanks
