Hi All,
I am a relatively new Palmer P60 owner and I'm attempting to change/check the reverse gear oil for the first time. I've read the manual and other posts on this subject but am still a bit unsure.

I've removed the hand hold plate (6 bolts) but am having a hard time determining the proper oil level. I hope this is even the right place!

Some posts say just below the first bearing but I'm not really sure what this means.

I've attached a picture that may help although it is difficult to see the current oil level from the picture.

Any help or tips would be great!

Thanks for the welcome and quick response Matt! That post you listed is good indeed.

So to be sure, it is pretty clear in the listed posting but just to relate it to the picture in my post.
The shaft is obviously coming in from the right in the picture so I just want the oil level to be about an inch below where I best determine this to be, correct?

This seems to be where the oil level is now, so that good. Now I just need to pump it out and change it.

Thanks,

-Brian

Yes, that is correct... one inch below the shaft outlet. Good luck!
