Hello all, I recently picked up a Penta MB10A and need to do some work on it and am not finding manuals and such specific to this engine after a lot of searching. Any help would be appreciated.

you can get everything you need for the volvo penta mb10a at marna marine motors (the original manufactuer) at www.marna.no
I'm going to be placing an order soon. If you want to go in together, perhaps we can combine orders and get a discount |

jaydibee sorry for late response. I only need the 10 spline shaft at the rear with the flange for connecting to prop shaft and at Marna price I think I'll cobble something or have some of it made locally as engine is to be used for water pump not at sea. thanks, stew |

I am interested in rebuilding the fuel injection pump for my MD1B engine. Does anyone know if there are instructions or a manual to do the rebuild? The pump is a Bosch no. PFR1K75A380/11.
Or does anyone know where can I get the pump rebuilt? |

Hello: I'm new to this mess. I have a sailboat with a Volvo Penta inboard gasoline engine. The carburetor has been rebuilt twice and failed again twice. I'm told they don't make this carburetor any more. I'm also told you can get a rebuild kit at NAPA. And I"m told there's a Scandanavian company that still makes the engine. Anybody know what the real answer is? |

Hi.
Have no fear, i have the exact same engine.
you want to go to www.marna.no using google chrome (because it enables automatic translation)
Everything is there. All manuals, all parts.
I had the same problem, but it was trivial to fix (except for the money part)
You can order a brand new carburator (i did), and installation is relatively straightforward.
If you want to deal in the states, i *highly* recommend a company called French Creek Marina.
They have ALL the parts for this engine in stock, you can get your carburator and everything there.
Dealing with Marna in Norway is a bit of a PITA, and because of the price of the Kroner, you are probably better off buying directly from French Creek Marina.
I can help you with anything else you need. The motor runs extremely well and is very, very reliable once you get the most basic stuff fixed. |

One more thing: I don't know if you've ever rebuilt a carburator before, but it is a fussy business. You can get the gasket from either Marna or French creek marina, but if you discover that the jet screws are warped or deformed, you are going to need a new one. I think i still kept my old carburator by accident, so if you are really desperate for parts, i suppose you could have them.
Personally, i've installed a brand new carburator and never looked back. If you can afford it, this is a way better way to go. |
