I am looking to purchase a steering stick that could be set up next to the engine. This would allow me to control the engine while bringing the boat to the dock. The boat is 18 feet long 52 inches wide. The boat was made 1909 so would like some steering device that would be correct for the boat. |

Usualy the steering system is a rope that goes around the whole boat attaching to the rugger arm, and is wrapped around a wheel at the captain's position - simple and effective. The wheels are usually side mounted . Alternatively, you can use the system that the Louisiana folks use - if you look at the videos you's see the system in use. miro |

Look at the 2:30 minute mark to see David's boat and steering https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjyhjQlKWIc Even better, why not visit the folks in Louisiana in March and see the system first hand. I'm planning to attend. miro |
