I recently aquired a home-built log splitter which is powered by a Flagship Marine Engine. It has a Carter BB-1 carb. There are several numbers cast in various places. One number is "M521-15" another is "39016" and a date plate of "11-17-53". It seems to run nicely. Can anyone tell me what kind of boat this may have powered? Is is a good motor? Is there source that may have a manual? ANy information or history on this would be appreciated! Thank you |

Can you post a photo? Probably a Hercules IXB Like the Chris-Craft model B. Look for an industrial application manual such as an Oliver or Cle-Trac. |

Thank you. I'll get a few photos and post. Do you know if it's best to add a lead substitue to the fuel? |
