I am getting a boat my grandpa custom built in the 60's. It has a Palmer engine model number IH-D 301. It is a diseal engine and has been sitting on the water for the last 10 years and has not been started in that time. It was gone through and running perfectly when it was parked. I am working on getting it started and trying to find out more info on this engine and how easy it will be to get parts and what the best way to go about getting parts would be. I am also wondering if anyone has any advice for starting it after so long. Any recomindations of things that will need to be replaced or should be replaced before I try to turn the key on it and fire it up. Any input or help would be great. thanks |
