looks like water has mixed with the oil....real thick now.....any ideas what could have caused this....is it fixable?

You should try to drain the old milky oil out and replace it with new oil. Run the engine for about two minutes and look in the oil to see if it is milky if so you have a leak that is allowing water to enter the oil from the water pump. If that is the case check the cooling systems.
