Does any one know any thing about the clearence on a St Lawerence engine I have two motors a single cylinder and a two cylinder. I need to Know the ring gap minimum clearence right now I have .60 thousand and need a carb and any info I can get thanks |

Your best contact for info on the engines is Paul Dodington in Port Carling. These engines were used in DisPro boats among others. He'll probably have a carb too. He's not net connected but can be reached at 705-765-5037. But please remember that he does this to put bread on his table so make sure you recognize his expertise.

Ring end gap on ANY internal combustion engine should be .004 per inch of bore dia. Example a cylinder with 4 inch bore would have a .016 end gap.

What does Wanda mean .60 thousands? Does it mean .0006 or .060? My brain isn't functioning to well tonight. Seems to me many of these old timers had ring gaps of as much as 3/8". The two cylinder St.Laurence I have has aluminum pistons and a Schebler Model D carburetor. |
