What pressure cap ?

Author Message   cygnet New member Username: cygnet Post Number: 1 Registered: 03-2010 Posted on Saturday, March 13, 2010 - 05:09 pm:        hi, can anyone please tell me what pressure cap i should have on a bmc 1500 diesel heat exchanger ? thanks in advance......jim   oslin04 Advanced Member Username: oslin04 Post Number: 35 Registered: 10-2006 Posted on Sunday, March 14, 2010 - 12:13 pm:        Hi I removed a BMC 1500 from a keel cooled narrow boat and it had a 4lbs cap on it, but I fitted it in to a fishing boat with the normal heat exchanger system and replaced the 4lbs cap with a 7lbs cap as you need slightly more pressure with the tube stick installed, and it ran fine until I sold it 5 years later.
