Found this "Emergency" marked oiler when I was looking through my stuff for one for my Emmons/Stanley restoration. Any idea on why this
would be marked as such? (I can speculate it was
to be opened only if the regular oiler failed but....??)

Don't know about the "Emergency" part. But if your interested in selling the oiler I have need for about 4 for my 1929, 140HP Atlas Imperial diesel engine. She is just about ready to turn over and run, minus the 4 oilers.
