Look at the bottom pic real well. Those stains look like there is a leak where there should not be a leak.

Anyone needing the Mianus ignitor spring please contact me. I found a few in a bunch of Palmer stuff. Don't want to say junk on a high class webb page like this. I do have one nos Mianus igniter and a nos 4 HSP exhaust manifold. One good flywheel and that is the extent of my Mianus holdings at the moment. Perhaps I should add contrary to Wendel, Palmer Bros. started out as Mianus Electric Company not Mianus. They came along about 1900, and moved to Stamford in 1907. They went under about 1954. They made a lot of very good engines.

I have a Feb 19 1898 Scientific American with a short article on the Mianus Electric Company of Mianus, Conn. It states they made one to six hp engines, stationary and marine. They show a two and a half hp 2 cyle "Palmer" marine engine.
It says also "The engines are readily adapted to motor carriages and are also used for running printing presses and dynamos for electric lighting".
I would like to find one with a dynamo attached.

Bill
