Larry My notes have 11 Marine engine mfgrs in Toronto some of them very early (prior to 1910)and I dont have a street address for each yet, but none of the addresses that are listed correspond with those you mentioned. The closest is in 1906 Acme Mfg Co. Ltd was at 230 King Street about 1 block away from McLachlan on Queen street at the time ! |

Goodday again here are photos of the engine that I just bought--It could be made as a marine engine very easily by removing the base & drilling out the bosses on the cylinder for a piston pump |

Just a thought but I wonder if there isn't a connection between this company and the McLachlan Motor Company founded in Canada which was later to become Buick. You might want to check with Garth Wilson who is the curator at the Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa. He has access to many historical catalogs of the era. Cheers Dave Richardson |

Goodday again Thanks for your input--I have checked with the Federal archives, the Provincial Archives & the Museum of science & technology & none of them have anything on this company (with the exception of the Provincial archives which has the corporate yearly company statements of business from which I was fortunate to obtain a copy of their letterhead with a drawing of the engine)--any & all ideas are welcome! "All the best" Larry |
