There is a really nice 2hp, 4 cycle, Regal inboard marine engine on eBay. The eBay number is 400189391534. If I wasn't trying very, very, hard to stick to Maine engines only, I would bid on this one. |

Well you need to get bidding then as it is marine. They run nice. What the heck was it sprayed with? |

Maine not marine. Looks like cooking oil doesn't it! |

Methinks that's the new trend: save the original paint if you can. Linseed oil seems to be the coating of choice. |

There is a big trend in flywheel engine collecting, that it is only original once, so leave it that way. If there is some original paint left, save it. This has a couple of good things going for it, one you don't have to be as worried about oil and grease messing up the new paint, and also, it is a much easier restoration. |

* Patina to some, Grunge to others. I find myself at shows etc by passing the shiny ones and taking a look at the originals much more often ! This old Universal WM Fisherman has been sitting in its shipping crate for several yrs and low on my priority list to do anything to , when I first saw the engine I thought that someone had bolted one of our southern Alligators to the intake manifold but with a closer look I determined it was really a Carburetor ? * |

There is a little difference between the Regal and the Fisherman. |
