Most Dispro's have a single cylinder , manual start engine. Some have two cylinder engines, but this one has a Universal Four which looks to have been factory installed. It's a bit much for the 3/4 in drive shaft, but I think it was done as a really custom order. The keel is oak, not the usual cypress. The boat was in the repair shop because it's dock had broken loose ( yes, the dock got moved by the storm) and the boat ended up on rocks with enough force that it drove the clenched nail INTO the boat on the inside. miro

Those old Atomic fours are great boat engines, quiet as a sewing machine and just as reliable. |
