Does not look like any Frisco Standard engine to me. |

I picked up a copy of Stan Grayson's American Marine Engines,and there is a picture on page 187 of a four cylinder 1908 Standard motor co. of New Jersey, that looks like the same engine. I think what confused me is if you look up Standard on the the home page of this website, there is a picture of this engine mixed with the Frisco's. I would like so see it run again. Any picks of the mag, or carb would be a help, as they are missing. |

Jed, That's a special Old Marine Engine !
Few marine engines this old had mechanical governors !

Wow! thank you so much for the info. Sounds like Standard made there own mag and carb? I would be stoked to find the correct parts, but I think that's a dream. Has anyone even seen one like this? I have yet to find any cbws. I think it may have been used in fresh water. One thing odd is it has a mag mount, and a dodge bros distributor that fits,and seems to be original. It also has two spark plugs per cylinder. I wonder if had a duel independent ignition system? |
