Not sure if this is an acceptable place to post this query, but: This set-up has no belts/pulleys on the engine at all--the alternator is a direct-drive flywheel thing like an outboard. How is the engine supposed to be turned over to set timing, etc.? Cab be done by turning the propeller in gear, but it's awkward and might not be good for the gears (?). There is a slot in the water pump drive piece and that might be the intent. The Mercruiser manual is unhelpful on this. Thanks for any info? Alan |

The timing marks are on the port side of the engine on the flywheel.......looks to be a O and 2 degree marks..if the engine will crank i would try to get it to run and with a timing light check for the marks ( note find them first and use white out or similar so you can find them with the engine running |
