I am looking for a Roberts 6 Cyl. engine in good condition, but not necessarily in running condition. I can be reached at 800-621-2531 or 727-445-9756. These engines were originaly built in Sandusky, Ohio. |

Ron, I think you called our office and spoke with Cliff. Post some more info about your project. I think that the users of this board will be interested and it might help get the word out to help you find an engine. Thanks. |

I have a project here that some people might think is very cool. My group here in Florida is building a full scale flying replica of the first Paid flight aircraft in history. The aircraft was called the "BENOIST" pronounced "benwah". It happened in St. Petersburg, FL at the downtown Albert-Whitted Airport. The date was January 1914. This Roberts 6 cyl engine we are looking for was the engine used at that time in history. If we can find any of the Roberts engine stuff, it would be of great interest to our group. We hope to have this airplane ready to fly on the 100th Anniversary in January 2014 if we can find the engine. Hopefully, someone will direct us to the right place for this engine. |

About 15 yrs ago I was told that the Old Rhinebeck Airdrome Museum in upstate NY was still flying an early aircraft with a Roberts 6 cylinder. I was later told that the Museum had closed, but maybe its a place to start looking. |

Yes Burt. We do have one or the only that is on loan to us from Rhinebeck in our museum in St. Petersburg, FL. We do need another one if there is one available someware. My friend Kermit Weeks in Polk City, FL. want to rebuild one for our 100th anniversary of the Benoist at Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg. Thanks for the post. |
