I recently saw this method of sharpening a bandsaw blade while the blade is still on the machine.
I tried it out and , with a bit of care, it worked just fine.
It took about 3 minutes to get my blade done.
I expect that with practice I'll get better at it.
It's a case of low tech, high skill.

Clever idea. I'd hold the Dremel Tool on the angle for the offset of the teeth on one side of the tool, rest my hand on the saw table and turn the wheel/move the blade with the other hand. Do the teeth on one angle/side, then repeat with the hand positioned for the other angle/side.
Might be better to use a fine grindstone in the Dremel rather than a cut-off disk, as they're not made for grinding on their sides, although the fibre reinforced ones don't fly apart as easily as the bonded ones. |
