John Lamb sent in an early picture of the JOSIE G

Andrew,
The person that gave me the boat found the old photo of JOSIE G. taken around 1918 on Shin Pond up by Mt. Katahdin. I thought you might like to see it.

Andrew, It's been a long time, but Josie G is still alive but needs an engine overhaul which will be done this winter. She is getting real loose and the water pump ecentric is real bad. I am building a new 25'x 35' metal shop. I retired from teaching school after 31 yrs in June of 06 and have been rebuilding Volvo Penta inboard reverse gears for Marine Parts Express, along with Borg Warner, which I have been doing for 32 yrs. It has been so long since I have been on this site I don't remember having a user name or password. I hope to here from some of you people soon.

Hello John,
Can you tell me what make, type, year and power motor is that's shown in your photograph of Josie G and whether it is still in the boat and operational.
Many thanks,
Sinbad.

Sinbad, Josie G is a Cape Cod Power Dory 21' motor launch built in Ms. in 1912 with it's origonal Palmer U2 engine. She is still in use but am going to rebuild the engine this winter. The serial #is 608212 on the engine. Hope this will help you.

Im not sure but the motor in the Josie G looks like a 6 double Atlantic made by Luninburg Foundry the reason why I say that I once owned 1 and the heart shapes casting in the flywheel is a atlantic trade mark .I could be wrong but it looks like it to me .
