This 1908 ad Claims 14 years experience puts motor mfgr back to 1894 a very early maker !!
This is an earlier engine with Cooley Brothers !
Big single must have been a real Thumper ?

Richard, There is a family up in VT. which has a Cooley. It came down in the family. They contacted me regarding any information on the company. I told them I had never heard of the company and would like to hear what they found out. Unfotunately this was about 1960 and I have lost track of their address. If I come across it I will send it along. I know their name was not Cooley but that isn't much help. Problem is when you save everything things get lost. |

The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum in Vergennes, Vermont has a large collection of high quality photos of Cooley engines and the Cooley shop. I think some of those photos are online somewhere also as I recall. They don't have a Cooley engine. |

Not that I'm aware of... unless Abenaque made one.
They apparently did make a two stroke stationary engine (I think, but I don't know anything about Abenaque). |

Abenaque Machine Works- article by Bill Vossler in Gas Engine Magazine Dec/Jan 2004 claims they made Marine engines ? I have never seen any evidence of one as yet ? I have them listed in my notes with a question mark !
