Hi, The VolvoPenta MD2B on my 1967 sailboat does not shut off properly (hasn't in the 2 years I've owned her). I have to lift the compression release levers to shut it down. I have the cover plate removed so that I can see the governor and the throttle shaft and lever, etc. With the cable disconnected, I can turn the throttle shaft 360ยบ so that I am certain to get to the absolute minimum fuel delivery point. Turning it beyond this point should shut the engine down, right? Instead, it goes past that "maximum cam" point and starts speeding up again. Anyone here have any idea what the problem might be? Thanks, Peter |
