Very nice boat. Interesting engine. I note that the Stromberg Carburetor would not be original!

Dave , it also has a fuel pump.
I'd like to set it up gravity feed again.
But also , what are your thoughts on cooling ?.
Its cooling now is raw sea water , should I try to convert it to fresh water cooling ?.

Rob, Fresh water cooling certainly has many benefits. The main one being to not worry about the water jackets rusting up or picking up some weed or other rubbish on the water intake and siezing the motor. I use 3/4 inch hard drawn copper pipe and the rule of thumb is 8" inches or 400 mm per Horse Power. Usually mounted along the Garboard plank with one end from the water outlet from the motor into the pipe thru the Hull then back thru the Hull at other end, Into a Header / Expansion tank, out the bottom of that to the water pump inlet. I use 60% Radiator Coolant and rest is fresh water. There are Commercial Heat Exchangers which will also do the job quite well but are a little pricy. If you are using a water cooled exhaust then you will have to fit another pump to use Raw water for the Exhaust. A small Jabsco would do the job driven off the prop shaft.
