Greetings, It has been about 3+ months since I last ran my P-60 which powers my sailboat. When I went to start it this time, it would not start the way it normally does (about half throttle with full choke). Instead, it required me to use no choke and to keep the throttle at the minimum throttle setting. I ran the engine for about half an hour at low throttle after realizing that raising the fuel flow at all caused the engine to die. I had hoped that warming the engine up would "fix" the problem. Unfortunately it did not. I have tried multiple times now and consistently get the same performance. Engine starts fine at lowest throttle setting. Any attempt to raise the engine speed using throttle causes the engine to die out very quickly. If I quickly reduce the throttle back to minimum setting the engine generally catches and continues to run without failing. However, if I attempt to increase fuel with the throttle, the engine very quickly dies. It will start right up again if I reduce the throttle to minimum and do not apply any choke. Suggestions? |
