Help water in with Perkins 4108 |

Hi everbody I have a perkins 4108 fitted in my boat driving home to day my engine kept stalling and a decline of power just about made it home checked il only to find water pumping out of the dipstick hole sump full of water I am total at loss I would really appreciate any help thanks Farqar |

Some possibilities: 1. If you cranked over the engine for an extended time trying to start it, you may have filled the muffler with water, which can back up into the engine. Since you got the engine running, which would blow the water out of the muffler, I don't think this is the problem. 2. The exhaust "riser" or "elbow" may have rusted out. If so, the water injected into the riser could find its way back into the engine. 3. If your exhaust pipe outlet was underwater, and there is no anti-siphon loop or device in the exhaust pipe (hose)water may be running into the exhaust outlet and thence into the engine. |
