It looks to be a compressor and an air distributor, seems like it would have had to been timed to the crankshaft, also would have to have a reservoir. Once started it would build air for the next start. On one of our trips we were thinking of a starter for Dickie Gibbens 3 cylinder Ferro, one thought was three air valves spaced 120 degrees apart around the crank with a sliding cam that could be brought under them. A line to each cylinder with a check valve would supply air on the down stroke. |
