A friend of mine manages a marina. They are scraping a boat that has Lathrop diseal engines. I have not seen them but they lay flat. Is there any value or demand for them. I'm told they also used these engines in buses. |

Rob, Do you have any additional info on the engines? Age, Horsepower, what model, what condition? Photo? They might have value, most probably for parts for someone that already has one... but a lot depends on what condition they are in. |

No I havent seen them. I may have time tomorrow. There in a derelict boat at the marina. The marina has to go through an EPA process, drain fuel, battery disposal any hazard materials. Then the boat is hauled away and crushed. The engines will be pulled either sold as is or scraped for iron value. There is no way to determin what condition anything is. It's a boat that the owner negleted so it went into a lean sale due to non payment of slip fees. |

These engines may be B&W Lathrop, which were built in both Vertical and horizontal designs. I know these engine which were built in Conn. and NY state. The years of their production was around 1958-1963. Trust this is of interest. Gerald. |
