I am trying to help a patron of mine locate information about a boat his father purchased. The patron had some memory loss after a heart attack and I'm trying to help him out. First off, I know absolutely nothing about boats so please forgive me for not using the correct terminology, etc. Okay, basically this is what I'm trying to find out: The boat in question is a 17'3" launch purchased during the mid 1920s in Northern Michigan when the town of Indian River was being built. The boat has a 3HP gray marine engine (2 cycle) and a unique direct drive shaft with an outer shaft controlled by a lever that has pins on the propeller from forward-neutral-reverse pitch. I may be able to get a picture of it, but thought I'd start the search in the meantime. Any guesses as to what company manufactured the boat or anything else would be most appreciated? Thanks in advance. |
