Hi New to the forum, and loking for some help. Don't know if this is an old enough engine but have been told it is. We have a Leyland 498 TD is our boat which we have just purchased and it is miles too big. We don't know exactly what size is it, and thats what I was after help with. Would there be a way or would anybody know what it is? Also, we were looking at replacing it with a 2.52 if it is 60hp, again, how would i find this out? Trying to list the engine to sell is proving a nightmare as we don't really know what it is Any help would be very much appreciated Thanks in advance |

Hi Quite an usual tractor engine you've got there. Built and sold in 100.000 or more a year in the '70s. It's 62 hp or so depending on fueling. Probably is a 4/98 DT, meaning Derated Tractor. You can sell it, try throung the tractor club associated with these tractors: http://www.thenuffieldandleylandtractorclub.co.uk/ Cheers, Landmark |
