I am not familiar with the r 3 but you either have a leaking needle valve or a hole in the float. I'd check the condition of those two parts. |

I concur........most likely the float valve needs to be lapped in .Take the top off the float chamber and remove the float,it's held there by a wire clip and locates in the valve spindle. If you are smart you can lapp it in with out removing the valve .Just make sure you clean out any traces of lapping paste or whatever you use. Could be that there is just some grit in the seat ...give it a good clean out. |

Just to add to the previous post .If fuel is leaking out of the top of the float chamber I cannot imagine that the engine is running ''sweet'' as you put it! |

CHEERS GUYS FROM WHAT YOU HAVE SAID LOOKS LIKE I GOT TO GET A WIRE CLIP AS THERE IS NOT ONE,AND HOPEFULLY THAT CAN BE A STARTING POINT.PETE WHEN THE FLOW OF FUEL IS ON FULL AND LEAKING OUT THE TOP ENGINE HUMS ALONG,IT IS WHEN I TRY TO RESTRICT THE FLOW SO IT DON'T CUM OUT THE TOP IT STARVES THE ENGINE.THANKS AGAIN GUYS WILL KEEP U POSTED AND TRY PUTTING SUM PICS UP ON MY NEXT LOG ON. |
